The Cosmopack Asia tradeshow in Hong Kong brings an extraordinary year for Gi Picco’s to a close: during 2017, the company based in the town of Paderno Dugnano near Milan had stands at all the top industry events around the world – Tokyo, Bologna, Dubai, Paris, New York and Las Vegas – travelling more than 82,000 kilometres to take all the savoir-faire and beauty made in Italy across the globe.
Hong Kong was an unmissable occasion, attended by almost 84,000 professionals from 135 countries. The exhibition was organised into twenty-five halls where companies from 25 countries displayed their products, in a sort of world Expo for beauty. More than 2,800 companies took part in the tradeshow, an increase of 7% from 2016.
“It was a fantastic experience,” commented Gi Picco’s general manager Irene Inguaggiato. “Asia has proved to be a dynamic, strategic market, in continuous expansion, as the figures show: Japan, China, Singapore, Indonesia and Korea reported double-digit growth in the number of visits. Japan alone had an increase of 24% compared with the previous edition. So for us it was extremely important to be there. In Asia too, the market is moving towards more sustainable products. The ISO 9001 certification we recently obtained and the current process underway to obtain ISO 22716 are steps in the direction of quality, safety and sustainability.”
